Galilee Lutheran Church
A Healthy, Caring Community in Christ, Reaching Out With The Gospel to Those Around Us

Galilee members Cliff and Ruth Stanley lost their house, and virtually everything else, to Hurricane Isabel. Member Vicki Spinelli wanted to "do something for them". She chaired a committee that decided to do a benefit dinner.

This dinner was held on November 16 at the Oyster Cove Clubhouse. Galilee members donated all food, tickets, place settings, etc. so there were no expenses. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans pledged matching funds from the remainder of their "Care in Communities" Fund for 2003.

With the proceeds from the dinner tickets, donations from local service organizations and individuals, and matching funds from Thrivent, the Stanleys will  about $13,065.00.

The Parish and the community came together to make this a very special, heartwarming event. Many thanks to Vicki and everyone else for their wholehearted and generous support.

Below are some photos of the dinner.
